Dear Family and Friends,
As many of you know, I began this school board race 62 days ago with only
a plan for improving academic accountability and increasing academic
excellence in Leander Independent School District. I began with no
political machine, bundles of cash or name recognition to propel my
campaign forward. Although we did not win Place 2, because of our hard
work and dedication, we had a great showing in the polls May 9th.
I would like to thank each of you for all you have done to make my
campaign a success. I would especially like to thank God for his divine
purpose in my life. I must thank Cerwin, my supportive husband and
partner in this endeavor, who has my back and has been my back
throughout this entire campaign. I would also like to thank my campaign
manager, Doris McDonald, for working many, many hours making calls,
sending email's and block walking.
A big "Thank You" goes out to Ashley, Jaylen, Jordan, Pastor Mac,
Jennifer, Gabbie, Elsie, Rhonda, Yvonne, Tasha, Victoria, Kat, Barbara,
Kim, Robin, Cathy, Christine, Keysha, Precious, Beverly, Chandra, Mark,
Kende, Jon and Teens For Christ for all of their hard work on my
campaign. If by chance I have missed anyone, thank you to you as well.
I am excited about what the future holds and I am looking forward to
continuing to serve our community and encourage our children to achieve
their goals through education. Thank you.
